Rural and Agricultural Scenes

Richard’s work shows how absorbed he was in the rural and industrial landscape of the North East.
He loved the bleak and austere northern landscape of moor, coastline, river and industry.
Works include the navigational obelisks off the Island of Lindisfarne, these having an intimidating presence within their remoteness of eel grass and mud flats; similar to the moorland lead mine chimneys.
