Description
This painting portrays the wildness of the North Sea. The minimalist use of colour shows the dramatic bleakness of the area. The post-industrial images of sea coal which was once collected by the locals is further reference to the area’s industrial past.
This painting includes one of the working sketches used by Richard when developing the painting.
